I wrote a review for this album a few months ago and this is one of my favorite tunes off the album. The video is insane and really makes you think.
Watch and share your thoughts.
LONDON CITY – Iceberg Slimm
I was so surprised and I had to look twice when I saw Starboy Nathan aka Nathan Fagan-Gayle n the X actor.
Nathan who is famous for his musical talent appeared on X Factor but the strangest thing for me was they did not announce him as an artist we may remember or who had been in big brother nothing was mentioned on the show.
Nathan was tending on Twitter soon after with a mixed response to him being able to apply to the show.
Nathan works independently and I really do like him I look forward to seeing where this may take him.
Below is some further information on Nathan appearing on the X Factor today.
Lupe Fiasco B!tch Bad (My thoughts)
Well I came across Lupe Fiascos new music Video entitled “Bitch Bad” a few days ago and I had to get on here to express my thoughts.
OUTSTANDING is the only way to describe this fantastic song and video.
It speaks about how influential music and music videos are today and especially influential music is children.
I spoke about the state of music in my previous post a few weeks back and the fact that so much music today seems so generic and mind dumbing at times.
One thing I maybe did not go into enough is how concerned I am by the things being shown in music videos today that young people see on a day to day basis and so many inappropriate things in the charts these days.
These things have no water shed even though a few have argued about this in the past nothing has been done about it.
Children are being subjected to so much over sexualised music, low murals, and low value of money, drink and violence.
Another point in the video which I totaly agree with is the way in which some woman are degrading themselves and not knowing self worth or value and then trying to attract a man and wondering why they are undervalued.
It is important for us as adults to be more aware and monitor what our children sees and hears.
Obviously if there is a moral to the story that teaches children something I am all for it but I for one find my self monitoring the music videos my children watch.
Of course allow children to have fun be innocent and be children it is not about not allowing them to have fun and enjoy music but it is most defiantly about realising the impact that music has on the children today.
Now of course many woman are ladies who knows how to take care of themselves and carries themselves well and would never allow them selves to be degraded in any way, shape or form. When you watch the video then you will have more of an insite as to what I am referring to.
Woman should start acting like ladies with respect for themselves in order to gain respect in order to allow men to respect more ladies instead of the disrespect of “Bitches.”
Of course there are many Ladies out there who care and demand respect “I for one” How ever there is a generation of woman who are lost.
There are many gentlemen out there who has so much respect for woman but there are the few who degrade woman and music has a lot to do with it.
This video is something all should watch and gain an understanding of.
What I love about Lupe is that he is not afraid to step outside of the box and he delivers music you can relate with and actually understand.
He is a very thought provoking artist who does not care what the mainstream is pumping out but instead delivers fresh meaningful, educated music.
Underrated but aren’t all talented artists these days? Let’s change that!
I absolutely love Ed Sheeran and his latest album + has been on my iPhone playlist for months now I can not bring myself to take it off, and why would I want to?
This is one talented UK artist and I just love every track from him so far.
His live performances are out of this world great acoustic sets and he seems so laid back.
The lyrical content of his music is incredible and he plays a mean guitar.
He has won many awards including Brit awards, this image is one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite songs of his.
When I was sent a promo copy of the new Ice Berg Slimm album I was so excited and I could not wait to hear it.
It had been a while since any new album releases for this talented UK rapper his last album “Da World On Ice” was released in 2004, So this I had been waiting for.
IceBerg Slimm has many hit songs and is renowned for his hit singles “Nursery Rhymes” “Badboy” “Lonely” and “starship” to name a few.
Iceberg Slimm also has many collabarations with Raghav one of which is the single entitled “can’t get enough”
Those of you who have read my previous blog called “the state of music” would know how much I have been waiting to hear some fresh music that would take me back to when music had meaning and good lyrical content well finally it is here!
This new album is entitled Higher, Higher is the first of four FREE albums forthcoming from Iceberg Slimm
This new vibrant album was outstanding the UK born rapper has stayed true to his old school rap roots. I love that he has not changed his style to suit the UK rap vibe that we constantly hear but kept true to his style and flow.
This in turn has the sounds of real old school hip hop back in the days when vibes like Method man, Redman, Wu tang clan and Big daddy kane were blazing through our speakers.
The album is full of heart and the music is so fresh and with crazy, mind blowing beats.
This album is refreshing and is defiantly set to be a world wide hit, because I believe that it is not only what the UK is missing right now but what the world and hip hop is missing as a whole.
There is so much empowering and thought provoking lyrics that in turn it is an eye opener for adults and children.
This album has been produced under Icebergs label Frojak Entertainment, Iceberg Slimm and Frojak have done a joint venture deal with D’vinci (Prime Minister) and Koalishon Music Group creating the brand F.E.K.M.G..
The production is of the highest quality, his lyrical flow amazes me, he has a fantastic way with words.
Favorite tracks “Hallelujah” “Rock da bells 2012” “King man” and “Ted Dibiase” are great songs if I had to chose only four that is as I really have so many favorites.
The song inside is a deep track where he speaks of the difficulty he has had in the music industry as he chose not to go the UK rap/Grim scene but chose to follow his true American hip hop roots.
Hats off to him it surely is not easy in the UK to pull it off but it is most defiantly in his blood. Ragga artists are not always from Jamaica but yet many artists use the phrases or accents, soul singers are not all Afro Americans the list goes on so if he has it go for it I say.
So my view is listen to this album for what it is and make your own judgement “organic” conscious REAL hip hop!
Fantastic rapper and album, an album all should hear and especially the youth of today!!

Well the Olympics have well and truly begun and we had a fantastic opening ceremony yesterday here in London.
Now I must say that when the show begun I was not sure what to expect I just knew it would be spectacular and I waited with my children with excitement.
I personally enjoyed it I loved the start and the way it gradually built up. I love the way that it represented English history, English arts, England’s culture and diversity.
My View is Danny Boyle did an outstanding job of trying to show what Great Britain is all about he showed our arts, movies, music, our history, our sport, our royal family, our culture. This man managed to even get the Queen involved with James Bond may I add which was one of my favourite parts.
Musical performances from the Arctic Monkeys, Dizzy Rascal and Paul McCartney to name but a few of the UK talent that did us proud. Oh and Mr Bean was a pleasant surprise! I realised we have so much to offer and so much to be proud of as a country.
Now during and right after the opening ceremony I heard reviews via twitter and Facebook mostly positive but many complaining that this was not included and that was not included.
Also there were many comparisons that it was not as good as the Beijing Olympics in 2008. One thing I was upset by was the fact that many said that we in no way topped Beijing’s Olympic ceremony.
I think that we should be embracing what we are all about not what another country is all about. Yes Beijing had a spectacular show but so did we and it represented Great Britain so well I thought.
I think the competitive edge has already begun before the first game had even started, however credit where credit is due. This was an amazing start and I was left beaming with pride and excitement.
Yes more could have been added in, but how much more realistically could have been crammed in?
David Beckenham’s speed boat entrance was just amazing and the lighting of the Olympic Stadium flame was mind blowing. Seeing Muhammad Ali was such a lovely touch.
Every country owes it to itself to be true to their culture.
I think that Danny Boyle won Gold last night well done and good luck to team GB.
